YOUR MISSION _________

The Senior Retail Manager will be in charge of all the retail activities, development & drive growth in sell out, market share & increase brand equity in Japan region. He/she will ensure that our brand standards are upheld at the highest levels and in line with our luxury brand image. Also, to ensure a cohesive and aligned approach to all commercially oriented operations and launches whilst collaborating with key internal stakeholders (Training, Marketing, VM, HR, Finance)

This position will be the key driver to implement all short, medium & long-term strategies to facilitate the achievement of Parfums Christian Dior Japan overall retail sales objectives. He/she will plan, implement and optimize the retail activities in the country to achieve or to exceed the objectives in terms of profit, market share, turnover and sales volume.

Reporting to the Travel Retail Director Japan (based in Japan), the Senior Retail Manager – Travel Retail Japan (based in Japan) will take care of:

  • Retail Sales Development
  • Management of Sales Force
  • Brand/Image & Merchandising Execution. Working with the VM team
  • Promotion/Animation Management
  • Retail Execution and Coordination
  • Negotiate / Relationship Management with Retailers
  • E-Retail
  • People Management

MISSION DETAIL

Retail Sales Development:
• Develop sales and manage sales performance by store to reach the target
• Compile monthly sales report to management, including new launches and competition analysis
• Communicate competition’s marketing activity to management
• Propose and work closely with TR Director on stock optimization: stock level analysis, slow movers’ follow-up
• Propose Sell out targets
• Identify actions and new opportunities for profitable growth in key & potential doors
• Provide monthly sell out reports & market analysis, YTG action plans


Management of Sales Force:
• Motivate, evaluate and retain a dynamic sales team and build team spirit
• Ensure that BCs follow the Dior art of selling and express Dior Brand values through customer service
• Improve BC productivity and ensure development of BCs through regular coaching sessions and counter visits
• Co-operate with training team to ensure BCs attend the mandatory training courses
• Communicate to the BCs their monthly target and follow-up with them the sell-out results
• Initiate and execute local incentive programs
• Recruit the best qualified retail employees
• Propose and work on BC development plan to increase knowledge and skills


Brand/Image & Merchandising Execution. Working with the VM team
• Enhance Dior Brand Image through visual, merchandising, BC grooming and POS activities
• Enforce strict and regular control of POS Merchandising, decoration and operating conditions up to PCD standards and following central guidelines
• Ensure that all the stores have sufficient stock/testers to maintain Dior Brand image across the region
• Prepare and execute the opening of new counters in the region


Promotion/Animation Management
• Supervise and execute the promotional activities formulated by Marketing department
• Ensure preparation prior to the event/animation and compile the feedback report after each event
• Ensure sufficient manpower coverage at each event/animation


Retail Execution and Coordination
• Take ownership of retail projects
• Ensure counter teams mastership and consistent daily use of tools and operating standards
• Monitor progress and review counters' results with BCs
• Plan, monitor and report monthly expenses of retail activities of PCD TR Japan

Negotiate / Relationship Management with Retailers
• Develop & manage long term, strategic relationships with all accounts
• Negotiate trade terms, space allocation, assortment and pricing
• Ensure a day-to-day follow-up with operation teams (shipments, animations)
• Present new launches and key animations to the local teams

E-Retail
• Ensure the E-Retail strategy is rolled out complying with brand guidelines
• Coordinate between internal departments, retailer and agency for campaign executions and ensure on-time content development
• Accelerate on digital activations, online brand visibility and sell-out development

People Management:
• Manage the retail team & 70+ retail frontline staff
• Motivate & engage the team by inculcating strong synergy to deliver results & performance
• Develop key profiles within the team thru proper career pathway planning & training developmental plan
