LVMH Innovation Award: discover the 30 finalist startups that will showcase their solutions in the LVMH Luxury Lab at Viva Technology 2019

LVMH has announced the list of 30 startups selected as finalists for the third edition of the LVMH Innovation Award. The startups will be part of the LVMH Luxury Lab at the upcoming Viva Technology show in Paris on May 16-18. Chosen from the large number of candidates from around the world who applied, these 30 startups will showcase their vision of the customer experience of tomorrow to industry professionals and the public.

Viva Technology, the world’s premier rendezvous for innovation, is set for this coming May 16, 17 and 18 in Paris. The event is an opportunity for the 30 startups shortlisted by LVMH to pitch their solutions. Following three intense days of pitches and exchanges, one of the budding enterprises will receive the third LVMH Innovation Award at a ceremony on May 17 at 10 am. The winner will benefit from personalized support for a full year to drive its growth, as well as a spot in the Maison des Startups LVMH, part of the Station F incubator.

The 30 startups selected as finalists this year propose the top solutions for  “Crafting the Customer Experience of Tomorrow”. They represent nine different countries and span ten different categories, including omnichannel, supply chain, clienteling, customer service, data and AI. What’s more, 20% of them were founded by women.

3月13日、国際女性デーに合わせてパリのLVMH本社には、LVMHの執行委員会や300人以上のグループマネージャーが集まりました。この日のアジェンダには、カンファレンス、パネルディスカッション、ネットワーキング、コーチングセッションなどが盛り込まれました。グループ内の女性のキャリア促進を加速することによって、2020年までに主要なポジションでジェンダーの平等を実現するという目標を再認識する機会となりました。

2007年に立ち上げられたEllesVMHプログラムは、LVMHとメゾンのあらゆるレベルやポジションで多様性を育むことを目標としています。プログラムはすばらしい成果を残してきました。2007年には上位管理職に占める女性の割合は23%だったのに対して、現在は42%になっています。グループでは、2020年までに主要なポジションにおいて厳格にジェンダーの平等を達成することを奨励していきます。

この勢いを継続し誰もが目標達成に向けて前進できるようにするため、グループでは執行委員会のメンバー、CEO、メゾンのヒューマンリソース(HR)ディレクターなど上位管理職を招いて、300人以上のマネージャーと一緒に3月13日(水)にパリで行われたEllesVMH Accelerator Dayに参加しました。アジェンダは2つのパートに分けられました。

午前はLVMH執行委員会のメンバー、多数のCEO、メゾンのHRディレクターがグループのHR&シナジー執行副社長のシャンタル・ガンペールやアジア太平洋HR上級副社長のルーザ・ロザケアスと会い、今日までの成果や2020年までに女性が上位管理職の50%を占めるために何が必要かについて議論しました。

午後はさらに多くのLVMHのマネージャーが男女ともに集まり、「LVMHの女性への称賛と協力」というテーマの下、団結しました。彼らは議論でリーダー達から刺激を得たり、コーチングセッションやベストプラクティスを共有するネットワーキングに参加したりしました。

LVMH welcomes the second season of startups at its La Maison des Startups incubator at Station F

LVMH is pleased to announce the second season of startups at its Maison des Startups incubator at Station F. While 13 startups from Season 1 continue their successful collaboration with the Group and its Maisons, the accelerator program welcomes 13 new promising enterprises, mostly identified through the LVMH Innovation Award. La Maison des Startups drives business acceleration between LVMH’s Maisons and startups to invent innovative new products and services for the luxury market, and constitutes an important pillar in the Group’s broader program fostering innovation and out-of-the-box thinking.

The second promotion of La Maison des Startups will host 26 young enterprises at the Station F startup campus. Out of these 26 startups, 13 already joined the accelerator program’s first season and will thus continue to deepen their successful collaborations with LVMH’s Maisons (Moët Hennessy, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Sephora etc.). The remaining 13 spots will be allocated to startups sourced by LVMH in the context of its annual LVMH Innovation Award during Viva Technology, which allowed the Group to welcome more than 100 startups since 2016 in its Luxury Lab at the heart of the event. What is more, several LVMH employees, whose projects won awards during different editions of DARE (Disrupt, Act, Risk to be an Entrepreneur) – an LVMH initiative dedicated to intrapreneurship within the Group – will join Season 2 to launch their projects.

La Maison des Startups lets entrepreneurs benefit from personalized support from LVMH group experts in a unique workspace and environment that inspire innovation. Workshops allow the entrepreneurs to familiarize themselves with challenges facing the luxury industry, and regularly organized pitch sessions let them present the evolution of their solutions to representatives of LVMH Maisons. This program is complemented by networking sessions.

With its second season, the accelerator program aims to support the Group’s current key issues such as the durability of raw materials, the reinvention of the omnichannel customer experience through the use of Artificial Intelligence, data, and ever-improving CRM systems, as well as innovative ways of delivering content through Artificial and Virtual Reality.

Thanks to La Maison des Startups’ hands-on program, most of the young firms now work on concrete solutions in collaboration with LVMH’s Maisons. Orbis, a startup revolutionizing companies’ communication through holograms, joined the program’s first season and has since launched its first international deployment with Zenith. Other projects with LVMH Maisons such as Guerlain and Kenzo Parfums followed.

Another success story of a startup, who parlayed its incubation at La Maison des Startups into a buzzing business, is Kronos Care. The company helps retailers offer the best post-purchase online experience to boost loyalty and was one of the winners of the LVMH Innovation Award 2018. Recently, Kronos Care was purchased by Narvar, a major player in online client engagement and an LVMH Innovation Award participant in 2016.

La Maison des Startups, distinctive in its multi-sector approach, plays an integral role in a broad ecosystem providing active support for young enterprises. Beyond the Group’s incubator at Station F, the LVMH Innovation Award, and DARE, LVMH’s commitment to innovation is far reaching and includes the support of initiatives such as the Kaggle Days, a 2-day international event dedicated to the exchange of knowledge between data scientist, to which three of the Group’s Maisons (Christian Dior Couture, Louis Vuitton, Sephora) recently contributed with workshops and brainstorming sessions.

 

 

LVMH PRIZE for Young Fashion designers – LVMH reveals the list of the 20 designers shortlisted for the semi-final held on March 1st and 2nd, 2019

The new edition of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers has confirmed its success, with, this year, over 1,700 applicants, a record!


Since it was launched in 2014, the Prize has been considered a true enabler for young talent from all over the world and has met with tremendous success internationally. It has confirmed its wide appeal with applications from more than 100 countries, spread on all continents.

After the closing of applications on February 4th, 20 designers were shortlisted for the semi final by the Prize selection committee, headed by Delphine Arnault.

Once more, fashion designers from all over the world were inspired to compete in the Prize. For the sixth edition, the selection includes 20 young designers from 15 countries : Bulgaria, Canada, China, France, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Japan, the Netherlands, Nigeria, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. They will all be present in the Paris showroom, at the LVMH headquarters, on March 1st and 2nd, to showcase their collections. This year, the collections were a balanced mix between womenswear, menswear and unisex collections. Sustainable and ethical fashion is also making a stand, with several designers integrating this approach into their brand identity. Furthermore, some of the semi-finalists are involved in the field of innovation, both in terms of the materials and the techniques they use. This is an accurate reflection of the current concerns of the fashion sector, which are also those of the LVMH Group.

With this Prize, LVMH confirms its ongoing commitment to supporting young fashion design and places the spotlight on tomorrow’s talent.

Among the 20 fashion designers shortlisted for semi-final of the sixth edition of the LVMH Prize, 8 create womenswear, 7 menswear and 5 gender-neutral collections.

In order to select the 8 finalists, the shortlisted designers will now be invited to present their collections to the 63 international fashion experts during the showroom of the Prize held on March 1st and 2nd in Paris 22 avenue Montaigne – Paris 8th.

On the occasion of its sixth edition, the LVMH Prize is delighted to welcome Chiara Ferragni as Ambassador of the Prize semi-final.

The LVMH Prize will then be awarded by the Jury in June at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris.

On the occasion of the 2019 edition of the LVMH Prize, the 24 Sèvres website will support the project and commercialize a selection of pieces designed by the 8 finalists, in addition to the collection of the winner in September. The purpose of this commitment is to internationally promote the creations of young designers from all over the world.

Each year, The LVMH Prize rewards a young fashion designer, selected for his or her talent and outstanding creativity. In addition to a 300,000-euro grant, the LVMH group supports the winner during a one-year mentorship provided by a dedicated LVMH team, in numerous fields of expertise (copyright, sourcing, production and distribution, image and communication, marketing…).

Last but not least, the Prize for Young Fashion Graduates distinguishes three young graduates with a 10,000-euro grant and the opportunity to join one of the Houses of the group for one year. Applications remain open until May 15, 2019 on the lvmhprize.com website.

LVMH announces the timeline of the Prize and the composition of the panel of experts

The LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers will take place for the 6th year running. On the occasion of the 2019 edition, new experts will appraise and choose candidates from all over the world. Applications – which opened on December 17 – may be submitted online at www.lvmhprize.com until February 4.

1/ The semi-final of the Prize will take place on Friday March 1 and Saturday March 2, 2019.

The panel of experts will select eight finalists among the candidates. This year, the panel will consist of 62 internationally renowned fashion industry specialists, including 16 new additions:

Rami Atallah, founder of the fashion platform Ssense; Naomi Campbell, top Model and philanthropist; Marie Chaix, fashion director at Double Magazine; Edward Enninful Obe, editor-in-chief of British Vogue; Chiara Ferragni, digital entrepreneur and CEO of Tbs Crew; Angelo Flaccavento, fashion journalist; Ashley Heath, editorial director at Pop and Arena Homme+; Joerg Koch, editor-in-chief of 032c; Suzanne Koller, fashion director of M Le Monde magazine; Kevin Ma, founder and CEO of the Hypebeast; Ezra Petronio, editor-in-chief of Self Service; Loïc Prigent, filmmaker; Aimee Song, founder of Song of Style; Aizel Trudel, founder of the fashion platform Aizel; Elizabeth von Guttman and Alexia Niedzielski, founders of the magazine System and of Fashion Tech.

2/ The final of the Prize will take place next June at the Fondation Louis Vuitton.

Since it was launched in 2014 by LVMH, the Prize has truly nurtured young fashion designers from all over the world and it instantly met with tremendous success internationally. It has become a landmark in the fashion business and, from its inception, the Prize has seen over 6,500 applications and welcomed over 35 different nationalities and 130 designers to its semi-finals. Furthermore, over 5 years, the Prize has distinguished 11 winners among the most talented of their generation. It is the responsibility of the LVMH group, as the leader of its industry, to honor and support tomorrow’s talents and to help them assert themselves and grow. The finalists of the 2019 edition will present their designs to the members of an outstanding jury, whose composition I will be pleased to announce together with the short-list of the semi-finalists”.

Open to all startups from France and other countries, the LVMH Innovation Award is back ahead of Viva Technology 2019. The LVMH Group will once again be at the heart of the event as a Platinum Partner. The thirty startups selected as finalists for the LVMH Innovation Award will also have a chance to present their vision of the customer experience of tomorrow at the world’s premier rendezvous for innovation, joining LVMH Maisons in the Luxury Lab LVMH.

LVMH Innovation Award 2019 - Kronos Care (2018 edition finalist)

After three days of pitch sessions and decisive exchanges, the startup with the most compelling solution will join the 2017 and 2018 winners and finalists of this unique competition conceived to spark exciting new ideas and drive the growth of startups: Heuritech (deep learning), Oyst (solution e-commerce), VeChain (block chain) and Kronos Care (post-purchase solution). The winner will receive a year of personalized support from the LVMH Group at the Station F incubator to drive its growth.

第6回LVMHプライズの応募受付が2018年12月17日 (月) に始まります。

受付は、公式サイト LVMHPRIZE.COM  からのオンライン応募のみとなります。

締切は2019年2月4日 (月) です。

若手ファッションデザイナーの育成・支援を目的としたLVMHプライズの対象となるのは、これまで2回以上、ウィメンズウェア、メンズウェア、もしくはユニセックスのコレクションを発表したことのある40歳以下のすべてのデザイナーです。

LVMHグループが2014年に創設して以来、この賞は若手デザイナーに多大な恩恵を与えており、世界中の若手デザイナーに門戸を開いています。過去5回の開催を通して、若い才能の発掘、支援、助成に熱心に取り組んできました。

グランプリ受賞者は賞金30万ユーロに加え、ブランドの成長に関わるあらゆる分野において、LVMHグループのエキスパートによる1年間のサポートを受けることができます。

また、ファッションの専門校で1課程を修了した若者3人が選出される賞では、賞金1万ユーロに加えて、LVMH傘下メゾンのクリエイティブチームに1年間参加する機会が与えられます。

第5回LVMHプライズでは、計90か国、総勢1300人の応募者から選ばれた20人のセミファイナリストが、ファッションウィーク開催期間にパリへと招待されました。2018年のグランプリは、ダブレット (Doublet) を手がける日本人デザイナーの井野将之氏、そして特別賞はロック (Rokh) のデザイナーで韓国出身のロック・ファン氏が受賞しました。

第6回LVMHプライズについての詳細は、1月初旬に公開します。ここでは、2019年のファイナリストを選出する国際的に知られたファッション業界のスペシャリストからなる審査員リスト、開催日程、コミュニケーションテーマなどが発表される予定です。

LVMHの若手ファッションデザイナー支援事業25周年

ファッション、ジュエリー、パフューム、レザーグッズ、ワイン造り、時計など、LVMHグループの多様なビジネスにおいて、メゾンとデザイナーが高品質への追及、革新、創意、創造性への情熱において秀でた姿勢を貫いています。

1-4 October 2018: LVMH brings its Open Innovation DARE program to the US

Last week, the DARE LVMH program (Disrupt, Act, Risk to be an Entrepreneur) – a global talent development initiative based on Open-innovation and coming from startup methodologies – allowed 12 project teams to spent three days developing their innovative ideas into business plans to reinvent the future of luxury.

Through DARE, LVMH harnesses the ideas and creativity of its talents from across its portfolio of world-leading luxury Maisons. In the process, they were challenged by internal and external expert mentors; and a grand jury selected the winning projects which will be implemented inside the Group. Both mentors and Jury members included senior executives from LVMH and its Maisons, as well as external entrepreneurs and CEOs.

From October 1st to 4th, LVMH held its DARE LVMH program for the first time ever in the United States. It was created by LVMH based on the conviction that its own employees are a top source of creativity in working to anticipate the evolution of the luxury sector and to develop future business strategies.

DARE was initiated by Chantal Gaemperle, LVMH’s Group Executive Vice President Human Resources & Synergies in 2017 as a unique worldwide cross-brand, cross-sector and cross-expertise initiative for LVMH employees. It was initially conducted in France, followed by Italy and more recently Shanghai.

“The DARE initiative is a pillar of our talent development strategy. It is an opportunity for our highly innovative and skilled talents to network, discover and share ideas as well as development approaches, to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship within the Group”, stated Chantal Gaemperle, Group Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Synergies at LVMH.

For the DARE LVMH in New York, over 6000 employees across LVMH were invited to submit an idea. Based on this, 60 LVMH talents were selected to participate, broken into 12 teams, which also included students from NYU, the Parsons School of Design, Brown and Barnard College. The teams worked on their project for three days at Camp David, a co-working space in Industry City, Brooklyn, and were challenged by mentors (LVMH Maisons CEOs and Regional Presidents, senior executives and external entrepreneurs and CEOs) to shape and refine their ideas.

On Wednesday, the teams then presented to a grand jury and three final projects were selected to be implemented within LVMH. The jury included Executive Committee members and senior executives from LVMH and its Maisons as well as from other leading businesses such as Rent the Runway, Moda Operandi and others. The winning projects were focused on how to improve the travel retail experience, to optimize visual merchandizing through an app and upcycling waste from the wine industry into the cosmetic sector. The jury also offered a special prize to an app improving the employee experience and skill sharing at LVMH.

On Thursday, the winning teams met with expert coaches from diverse departments across LVMH (environment, digital, IT, HR, finance), to bring their projects to life. These professionals will continue to help them refine their projects so that they can be successfully implemented within the LVMH Maisons. The event concluded with a keynote address from Sheila Johnson, the co-founder of the Black Entertainment Network (BET) and now CEO of Salamander Hospitality, which owns luxury resorts in the US.

 

The talents who participated in DARE LVMH in NYC– the “intrapreneurs”— all work in the Americas, represented 15 LVMH brands and six nationalities, and came from a wide range of departments and functions. This experience enabled them to share their expertise and experiment with new ways of working in order for their teams to create novel initiatives and strategies that address the future needs of the luxury industry. Having been through the DARE experience, these talents can now be ambassadors of new ways of working, which they will bring back to their LVMH brand colleagues.
