The Musée Rodin was transformed into a full-fledged atelier for the Dior Fall-Winter 2018-2019 haute couture show. For the presentation of her new haute couture collection Maria Grazia Chiuri paid tribute to the atelier, a sacred place that is home to exceptional materials and savoir-faire.

On July 2, the gardens of the Musée Rodin in Paris once again welcomed the Dior haute couture show, this time for the Fall-Winter 2018-2019 season. The scenography created the effect of couture ateliers, reprising one of the emblematic themes from last year’s exhibition “Christian Dior, designer of dreams” at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris. The Artistic Director of the Maison at 30 Avenue Montaigne paid tribute to the ateliers, sacred and timeless places that are guardians of the memory and secrets of grand couturiers.

Maria Grazia Chiuri returns to the fundamentals, designing suits in which the Bar jacket develops batwing sleeves. The powdery palette of brick, green, pink and orange interacts with nude, coloring the clothes as well as accessories – refined costume jewelry, veils and hats – creating a complementary continuity of the body on which couture places emphasis. Evening dresses dazzled with a mix of pleating and layering, contrasted with simple bustiers to offer a surprising dissonance.
